    Pro-Build 360 Limited and the Business School at Birmingham City University (BCU) are looking to appoint a high calibre graduate (recently graduated within the last 5 years) as a Marketing Executive, with specialist expertise in market research, business and content marketing strategy, and marketing campaigns.

    The successful candidate will be employed by Birmingham City University and based at Pro-Build 360 Limited (Birmingham, West Midlands) who are a multi-award winning, independent, design, planning, management and building company (https://probuild360.co.uk/)

    The post-holder will also have access to staff and facilities in the Business School’s Centre for Enterprise, Innovation and Growth, which has an internationally excellent reputation for business analytics. This role presents a unique and exciting opportunity to collaborate with industry and leading academics, to apply academic knowledge and business innovation to Pro-Build 360 Limited’s marketing strategy and new product launching process, and identify market trends and opportunities for its expansion.

It is essential you understand how a KTP works between a business and the University, and the vital role you will play if you successfully secure this position.     Through the KTP, the Associate will enable the management team to increase their marketing capability, their understanding of how to reach new clients and then convince them of the benefits of Probuild360’s approach which is needed to grow the business. A participatory approach will be used to achieve the organisation’s ‘thought leadership’ vision of disrupting traditional relationships in the construction industry. This requires an innovative approach that builds on traditional business management and marketing tools. The Associate will be developing the thought leadership programme for which there is no textbook template. It will require a unique combination of knowledge of the industry, of teaching and learning, and of digital marketing. The Associate will gain experience of designing and facilitating workshops to embed knowledge and techniques for marketing and video production. This will include embedding product management disciplines including ideation of new services or products through development to launch.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To focus the Pro-Build 360 Limited ‘Thought Leadership’ content marketing strategy and roll-out implementation plan, supporting the company in developing the branding and positioning Pro-Build 360 as Thought leaders in construction.
    • Identifying routes to growth, including new products e.g. consultancy offer and new markets outside the WM area.
    • Support the marketing team in building in-house capacities in developing marketing collateral and content creation, e.g. graphic design, copywriting, and advertising.
    • To develop a content marketing strategy including use of a content management system and release strategy.
    • Building an audience through digital communication strategies.
    • To enhance intellectual property protection, alongside the relevant University teams and Pro-Build 360 Limited.
    • To oversee the project for its duration.

    Skills and Experience

    The ideal candidate will have excellent business, marketing and content creation skills. They should also have excellent interpersonal skills, and be willing to work as part of a tightly knit, innovative group of highly motivated individuals, both at Pro-Build 360 Limited and the Business School’s Centre for Enterprise, Innovation and Growth and Department of Marketing and Leisure Economies. The candidate must be adept at applying their knowledge to commercial opportunities, driving value and making an impact.

    The Associate will hold a relevant business degree. This may be a good first degree (equivalent to a first class or 2:1 honours) in Business or Marketing, or a Master's degree in a business and marketing discipline. Relevant business experience — for example through having worked in industry, or on a university placement — would be expected.

    Essential Skills

    • Demonstrative knowledge and understanding of marketing strategy.
    • Experience of developing/completing a substantial marketing project in either university or industry.
    • Keen interest in the developing enabling strategies to facilitate business growth through cultural change.
    • Experience working across a wide range of Social Media platforms to develop and curate consistent and engaging content.
    • Understanding of a range of market research techniques which will aid business decision making.
    • .Keen interest in developing enabling marketing strategies to facilitate business growth through aligning organisational change with national market opportunities.
    • Analysing and redesigning product management processes to improve international expansion and reputation, as well as brand awareness and enhancement.
    • Effective interpersonal skills to establish good working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and industrial partners will be essential. Excellent verbal, written and analytical communication skills.
    • Project and time management skills commensurate with the role of KTP Associate.

    Desirable

    • A willingness to travel to industry events throughout the UK and abroad if required.
    • Involvement in the implementation of a new culture of continuous improvement using tools such as journey mapping and customer experience, and soft systems methodology.
    • Practised in training and mentoring to embed new content creation capabilities.
    • The Associate must be a proficient communicator and engage fully with all stakeholders, in seminars, workshops and events, to highlight the work of the project.

    The successful graduate will be employed by Birmingham City University and will be based at Pro-Build 360 Limited (Pro-Build 360 Limited, 1 Phoenix Business Park, Avenue Close, Birmingham, B7 4NU) where they will lead on the thought leadership and content creation project and oversee the project and be supported by academics from BCU’s Centre for Enterprise, Innovation and Growth and Department of Marketing and Leisure Economies who will visit half a day week to support the successful candidate offered this position. There is a fully written work plan and project plan for the successful candidate to follow that will assist during the project, as well as a team of academics and a company supervisor who are involved in the KTP project.
