We are seeking highly motivated individuals for our Investing in Investors programme, a full-time, intensive one-year recruitment and training programme that places experienced professionals like you on BlackRock’s Fundamental Equities Team. The programme is designed to help you gain the skills and experience needed to successfully transition into a career in investing.
Fundamental Equities (FE) is a key active investing organisation within BlackRock and part of the firm’s Portfolio Management Group. Fundamental Equities has $300 billion of assets under management, with more than 200 investment professionals stationed across the global and over 100 actively managed strategies to meet clients’ diverse needs. The Investing in Investors programme includes:
- Intensive, tailored 6-week Equity Research Boot Camp focused on key financial skills and acumen as well as firm-specific tools and processes
- Series of ‘on-the-desk’ rotations across our FE teams, giving cohort participants hands-on experience in equity research, including but not limited to financial modelling, investment idea pitches, and company meetings.
- Mentoring and coaching support along the way leveraging a robust network of support, including senior sponsors, assigned on-the-desk buddies, and professional coaching to set up cohort participants for success in a fast-paced environment focused on learning and delivery.
- Ongoing feedback, team-specific training, and career development support
After successful completion of the programme, participants will be offered a permanent, full-time, Associate-level Equity Research Analyst position within Fundamental Equities or a position within another BlackRock team.
Equity Research Analyst Responsibilities
- Work with a team to screen the market for alpha-generating ideas (long and short), and then present a shortlist of actionable ideas and companies to research.
- Conduct rigorous fundamental research on shortlisted companies, including financial and industry analysis, leveraging resources available such as corporate access, third-party research, and interactions across BlackRock equity teams.
- Present final research and recommendations and contribute to the team’s discussion on individual ideas to generate long-term, high conviction investment ideas and drive alpha for the team’s portfolio of funds.
- Build partnership and strong working relationships with global colleagues and counterparts across the platform and investment teams at BlackRock.
Programme Location
The programme is based in BlackRock’s London offices. The health, safety and well-being of our employees continue to be our top priorities. To enter our offices, you must be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative Covid-19 test result before arriving.
