Our values are our motivations
We have four key values, collaborative, authentic, respect and dynamic and these values are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for people who also believe in these drivers as we work together to achieve success for both our colleagues and our clients alike.
About the role
Indirect taxes (VAT, customs and excise duties) are the second largest source of tax income for the Government. Indirect taxes are commonly passed onto and borne by the end consumer, so it is essential that businesses apply taxes and reliefs correctly as this will often influence pricing decisions and the profitability of the business.
For indirect taxes, businesses act as unpaid tax collectors, responsible for charging, collecting and remitting the tax to HMRC.
As legislation evolves and becomes increasingly complex, our role, to help our clients ensure that their indirect tax affairs are both compliant and efficient, is more important than ever.
The Indirect Tax team advise clients on all aspects of indirect taxes including compliance and reporting (VAT returns, customs regimes and declarations) as well as the tax implications of a client’s commercial transactions, both day-to-day, such as the VAT treatment of their income streams, and one-off transactions, such as purchasing a new property or expanding overseas.
This role will commence in September 2025.
Studying for the professional examinations
Our people attend integrated link courses run by a leading financial training company in London to prepare them for their professional examinations. The courses combine periods of full time study and progress examinations with a home study element. The tutors liaise with us on a regular basis, allowing us to maintain an active interest in performance.
We pay for all courses, exam fees and study leave for first sittings. The company’s commitment to our graduates’ development shows in the consistently high pass rates our students achieve in the examinations. This is something we are very proud of. Our success lies first in the process of selection and then in providing the best possible tuition, both in practical and theoretical terms.
