The role
Based in London, this is a great opportunity to provide broad-ranging administrative and substantive support to the Legal and Compliance Team. Our team’s coverage includes legal and compliance support for Bloomberg’s various financial technology and data products, indices and benchmarks and our regulated trading venues. This calls on a wide range of expertise, including legal negotiations and advisory work, personal account dealing, regulatory systems management and permissions, compliance testing and practices, data privacy, and anti-money laundering. The ideal candidate will be interested in a fast-changing environment and have great communication and organisation skills, with a strong eye for detail. Furthermore, you will learn about how the Legal and Compliance Team supports the various business functions, including News, Engineering, Product, Sales, Government Relations, Communications, HR, Diversity & Inclusion.
We offer a dynamic and fast-moving environment that supports individual growth and offers an opportunity to develop a strong foundation of legal and regulatory compliance skills and experience, where you’ll rotate between both teams over the course of ten weeks. Hands-on individual support and involvement in projects will allow you to experience how your career could evolve in legal or regulatory compliance.
To round out your experience, you'll attend “lunch and learn” sessions, designed to teach you about our diversified group, and there will be opportunities to meet Bloomberg leaders at a variety of events. We also want to give you the chance to get to know your peers, so you'll take part in volunteering activities and social events with interns from other departments.
You’ll need to have
- Availability to commit to the entire intern programme length (10 weeks) – from 24 June through 30 August 2024
- Undergraduate or postgraduate status
- The right to work in the UK
- A passion for legal and/or regulatory compliance matters
- A strong aptitude for problem solving, critical-thinking and the drive to think creatively
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Good relationship building skills
- Proactive, self-motivated approach to management of workload and/or projects
- Resilience to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
