Bloomsbury Football Foundation is changing the game, and we need great people to help us on our journey!

In late 2023, Bloomsbury Football Foundation published its new 5-year game plan with the goal of providing high quality, football provision for 20,000 young people every week.

Young people in London are facing a growing mental and physical health crisis which disproportionately affects girls and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The pandemic, social media and the Cost of Living Crisis have made the situation worse.

Established as a charity in 2018, we work to support young people aged 4 to 18 through the provision of football activities, enabling them to live active lifestyles, and pursue their full potential. Our team currently consists of 26 office-staff and a cohort of 60+ expert coaches.

Bloomsbury Football Foundation aims to ensure that every child can take part in our programmes – regardless of their ability to pay or play. We provide an experience and environment that is professional, competitive, and enjoyable for all players, coaches, and parents.

Crucial to this strategy is our three-step engagement model, which prioritises engaging young people with no previous access to physical activity; we run free-to-access programmes for children from underserved communities in schools and on housing estates, before providing them with subsidised places on our mainstream, extracurricular programmes, as well as providing a teams-based, high-engagement pathway for those that want to increase their football activity further.

In total, each Bloomsbury Community provides over 300,000 contact hours per year for some of London’s most vulnerable children.

As part of working at Bloomsbury, our young team get opportunities throughout the year to attend high profile sporting events, network within the industry and partake in tournaments at venues such as Stamford Bridge.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people, and adults at risk of harm with whom we work, and we expect all our team to share this commitment.

As part of this commitment, we carry out basic disclosure checks on all employees and require all roles working directly with children, young people, and adults at risk of harm to have an enhanced DBS check. This post is subject to an extensive disclosure check.
