    Our Summit ONE in Farnborough is home to the National Sales Company for the BMW Group in the UK, as well as BMW Group Financial Services which offers retailers, corporate, and private customers a range of customised financial services. Alphabet (GB) Ltd. as a leading provider of Business Mobility Services is also located in Farnborough.     Asset Risk (Multi Make)

    As part of the BMW Group Financial Services Risk department, the Multi Make Asset Risk team is responsible for managing the non-BMW Group brands residual value (RV) and maintenance (SMR) risk on the BMW Group Financial Services vehicle portfolio, this includes both Alphabet GB Limited and Alphera Financial Services. This involves forecasting the RV and SMR for all available non-Group vehicle manufacturers and models for the Alphabet and Alphera quotation system, as well as managing the risk of vehicles currently on the live fleet, all of which is critical to the success and profitability of the business.

    Demonstrating a passion for data analysis, business, finance, economics and the automotive industry, we’re looking for highly organised, self-motivated individual who can demonstrate an ability to apply themselves and excellent attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with key areas of BMW Group Financial Services to support with Asset Risk activities and also in collaboration with industry data providers and non-BMW Group manufacturers.

    What will you be doing?

    • Analysis of new and used vehicle market, often with very large data sets, for example: current used car values and forecasts, auction sales, vehicle depreciation and vehicle usage.
    • Manage and respond to Asset Risk queries from internal teams to the department email inbox.
    • Provide regular and adhoc analysis and reporting, with also presenting results and recommendations at internal meetings and working groups.
    • Stay abreast of the car and commercial vehicle industry and trends, and the factors the impact used vehicle values, with a high focus on electrification and future technology.
    • Support with the overall Asset Risk strategy and both ongoing and new projects.
    • Identify and implement process improvements.
    • Collaborate with various internal departments (Remarketing, Controlling, Commercial, Data) and also the wider BMW Group on new model launches and the BMW Financial Services international team.
    • Support with communications with external data suppliers and vehicle manufacturers.
    • Support team with various operational risk, process management and audit requirements.
    • Potential to support other Risk teams such as Group Brands Asset Risk, Credit, Interest Rate, Strategic and Operational Risk.

    Qualifications

    • Studying toward a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above, for example Business Studies, Economics, Maths, Finance.
    • An active interest in the automotive market and understanding of vehicle manufacturers and models would be advantageous.
    • High level of Excel skills essential, knowledge of SAS or Qliksense is desirable but not essential.
    • Good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint.
    • Excellent levels of numeracy essential, above average focus on attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
    • Part time work experience in customer service or business related environments is ideal.
    • Experience leading and managing teams in university projects or in a volunteering capacity also beneficial.
    • Self confidence in liaising with contacts at all levels proactively and diplomatically.
    • Self-motivated and organised, able to prioritise, use your initiative and manage time effectively and work on multiple tasks. Excellent team player, offers support proactively.
