Bespoke and Innovations
Rolls-Royce Bespoke is an exciting environment, bringing customer ideas into reality. We produce interior surface components using a variety of materials and finishes. Throughout the process we combine craftsmanship with technology to exacting standards. It is our attention to detail that produces world class interiors. Our team is seeking two placement students to join from July 2024.
Working in Bespoke at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is an exciting environment, bringing the most ambitious designs of our clients into reality. Each day in Bespoke will bring new challenges and opportunities as you support the Bespoke Workshop & Studio teams with day-to-day tasks and projects. This is constantly changing due to the range of bespoke options we offer our clients, and you will learn how to think on your feet in a dynamic workplace. This placement offers you the opportunity to learn how to support the team in bringing new & exciting ideas to life, as well as leading the Experimentations workstream.
What will you be doing?
- Supporting Bespoke Edition & One-Off feature projects.
- Assisting Innovation investigations by Workshop & Studio teams.
- Leading the Experimentation team as a co-ordinator by steering the project from initial concept to bench samples.
- CAD modelling for bespoke interior surface projects.
- Involvement with the start to finish process of producing bespoke interior parts.
- Ensuring that the studio & workshop technicians have sufficient materials for projects.
- Helping the department to maintain high manufacturing standards.
- Event co-ordination such as Festival of Speed, London Craft Week & client showcases at the Home of Rolls-Royce.
Qualifications
- Studying a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in an Engineering course.
- Any knowledge in Wood Technology or similar would be an advantage, however not a requirement.
- You need to be able to work independently within our team and have the ability to organise yourself as well as be able to work in the team environment
- You will be required to work from your own initiative taking projects and tasks from concept through to a complete and implemented solution
