    RISK main missions

    • Advise the Bank Management on the definition of risk policy;
    • Contribute as a “second pair of eyes” to ensure that risks taken by the Bank are aligned with its policies;
    • Report and Alert Bank Management on the status of risks to which the Bank is exposed.

    Job summary & responsibilities

    Risk Graduate Programme is a 2 year programme rotational programme after which you may apply to be an analyst at the bank.

    Working in RISK you should expect to do any one of the following tasks:

    Graduate roles include Risk Global Markets, RISK systems, ESG, Operational Risk, Cyber and Risk Governance and Controls. Details below are key but not exhaustive:

    • Finance background or from a related field understanding or interest in investment banking
    • Pragmatic approach to handle production processes and to deal with exceptions
    • Classification : Internal
    • Client focus: Understanding of customer service and provide client with appropriate solution
    • Flexible and responsive approach due to exposure to numerous varied demands
    • Problem solving approach and good intuition in risk measurement
    • Good organisation and time management abilities
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Must be able to thrive under pressure and be result oriented.

    Specific to RISK Global Markets, and ORM

    • To proactively identify, analyse and review market and counterparty risk exposures
    • To actively contribute to the definition of official market and counterparty risk policies
    • To acquire a solid understanding of a wide range of complex transactions across all types of asset classes (Credit, Interest rate, FX, Repo, Equity, Commodity)
    • To contribute to the valuation process and the valuation risk monitoring
    • To gain awareness and participate in the Bank’s transversal strategic projects

    Risk systems

    • Data analysis: Analyse risk data quality and remediate to data issues.
    • Risk controls and certification: Provide daily sign-off on main services (Risks, VaR, Limits…)
    • Act as a second/third level production for Market and Counterparty Risk.
    • Provide business support to users and act as second line/third line of support.
    • Document operations processes when required.
    • Contribute to build tools used for data analysis, data controls, monitoring and reporting.
    • Contribute to the continuous Improvement of the operations.

    Technical skills and qualification required for the role

    • A preference for a Master’s degree such as Engineering, Financial Engineering, Finance, Maths, Sciences, Economics, Econometrics but related disciplines will be considered including non-technical subjects but an aptitude with finance will be vital.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Tools, and an interest in developing practical solutions to data analysis problems by using more advanced solutions
    • (R/Python)
    • Some familiarity with financial products is an advantage (bond pricing, definition of Greeks (Delta/Vega/Gamma), concepts of option pricing) and is preferred.
    • Exposure to banking regulation issues is an advantage but not a requirement.
