    Business Area/Department Overview

    The main mission of the Market, Counterparty, Liquidity Portfolio Analysis and Capital Team (MCL PAC) team is to provide General Management, CIB and RISK Function with a global independent view and analysis of key risks, related to market, liquidity, equity and counterparty risks.

    As such, the team maintains an associated governance framework including Metiers, RISK GM and RISK I2S, comprising recurring committees from Capital Market Risks Committee (“CMRC”) to Main Positions meetings.

    Purpose and Scope of Role

    • Purpose: Market and Counterparty Risk Reporting Analyst working on the production and improvements of stress testing (such as P&L for trading book and exposures for counterparty risk).
    • Scope: GM/BPS2 globally (cross-asset and all-regions) with particular attention to the internal model perimeter for market and counterparty risk.

    Key Responsibilities of Role

    Contribute to the origination and compilation of stress testing analysis and reports (both market and counterparty risk) for supporting documentation for the various risk committees/meetings in place within BNP Paribas.

    • In particular the Financials Markets Risk Committee which is the highest market risk forum in BNP Paribas established between RISK, the senior managers of GM, CIB and General Management.
    • Contribute to the governance and improvement to the overall stress testing platform.
    • Other responsibilities include contribution to General Wrong Way Risk stress testing related reports in terms of production, review of other contributor's material /documentation of final results.
    • Continuous improvements to the contents and quality of any reporting based upon information from current business activities and to remain efficient in report production are also required.
    • Assist Head of STRM on supervisory reporting and ad-hoc stress testing needs. e.g.
      • ad-hoc focus/studies as well as regulatory stress test/exercises.
      • EBA,ECB stress tests
      • Group wide stress test

    Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

    Essential

    • BSc. with a numerical focus (e.g. scientific, mathematical or financial discipline)
    • Some practical experience of market and/or counterparty risk topics including topics such as VaR, statistics/econometrics, pricing fundamentals/greeks and stress testing.
    • Desktop technical (e.g. expert spreadsheet skills, VBA) and general all-round IT competence.
    • Verbal and written communication skills (English language) are an absolute requirement, due to the need to establish and maintain contacts and information flow with people from different entities, beyond the market activities perimeter.
