The Position
We currently have an opportunity for a Student to join us for a 12 month placement, within our Quality Control Team, at our manufacturing site in Pirbright. As a Quality Control Technician, you will support in the testing and release of foot & mouth disease antigen & vaccine batches. You will also support with environmental testing required to maintain compliance at a GMP site.
This role plays an essential part in ensuring that when products produced on the site are released to market, they are safe, efficacious and achieve the required level of quality. There is a need for day-to-day decision making in collaboration with line manager and support functions.
Task & Responsibilities
- All aspects of in process and final product testing where results are used to support release of batches to required specifications, including receipt of test samples into QC.
- Support with QC QMS processes such as, OOS, deviations, CAPA and change controls
- Writing and updating relevant SOPs and material specifications
- Support with validation activities
- Managing stock levels and ordering of consumables
- Support with site utilities and environmental testing programs
- Maintenance and control of reagents used for relevant QC analytical tests
- Sterilization of equipment and waste removal from the restricted area.
Requirements
- Be studying towards a relevant Biological based degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Organisational skills
- Be able to work well as part of a team
- Ability to work to deadlines
