This post is for a Business Analyst Internto work within the Common Information Services function in Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) in Bristol. BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,200 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISR Services, and Through Life Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services

The Business Analyst Intern will support change and Implementation projects within the Common Information Services function. Projects will deliver internal capability required for core MoD programmes, as well as projects to external customers through the SCIS programme. Supporting experienced Business Analysts, the successful candidate will be required to engage proactively with business departments to identify and define business requirements, then reach across to the rest of Boeing Defence UK IT resources. As a part of a small team within a very large enterprise, the role requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. The candidate must be “hands on” in their approach whilst always maintaining a focus on the higher level priorities of the business.

Position Responsibilities

In the Business Analyst role, it is essential to gain the confidence of both business and technical staff and act as the facilitator between both groups of staff.

  • Identify and communicate opportunities for business improvements
  • Actively contribute to the Business Analysis capability
  • Present ideas and facilitate workshops
  • Discuss ideas and concepts with staff of all levels.
  • Requirements capture, documentation and management
  • Business process analysis; model and analyse as-is and to-be process
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

BDUK is a diverse business engaged in delivering a variety of support services to clients both directly and via large-scale programmes. As such, the candidate would be expected to analyse requirements and define IT solutions across internal BDUK programmes and supply chain customer programmes for MoD. In additional to business analysis skills the candidate must have an understanding of Information Management and Architecture.

The job will require occasional travel in the UK.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

IT, Computer Science or Business related degree (in progress)

Undergraduate Student in Business, Economics, Computer Science or associated field preferred

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Information Services qualifications (e.g. A-Level or Higher)

Comfortable with conducting presentations and running meetings

Effective written communication skills
