    Position overview

    This role is a three-month Communications internship based in Westminster, London.

    The intern will assist with the planning and execution of stakeholder engagement activities and provide ad hoc support for long-term reputation-building activities planned by Boeing’s UK & Ireland Communications teams, with a focus on planning and delivering stakeholder events (Farnborough and RIAT air shows), internal and external communications, and social media, including content creation.

    Areas of focus will be: commercial aviation, including sector recovery; defence; environment and climate; and corporate social responsibility.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Must have excellent communications and inter-personal skills, especially strong writing skills.
    • Experience in delivering presentations and working in large teams preferred.
    • Must be fluent in English.
    • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and with remote teams, and be able to confidently manage many tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong organizational and time-keeping skills.
    • An interest in aerospace, PR, marketing and/or communications, politics.

    Typical Education & Experience:

    • Current undergraduate of any degree subject considered; PR, marketing, communications, politics, humanities or business degrees preferred.
    • The ideal candidate would have had some exposure to the business environment, is proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, has demonstrated leadership qualities in the university environment and has experience working with different levels of seniority.

    Work authorization

    This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.

    PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a Security Clearance Process, which will require 5 years uninterrupted residency in the UK prior to applying.
