Position overview
We are looking for an Project Engineer Intern to support the Boeing team in Sheffield UK, to start July 2024.
Boeing Research and Technology - Europe (BR&T-E) is looking for an intern to join its UK team. BR&T – E is a rapidly growing its work statement across the UK to deliver a number of key projects of work within the Aerospace sector. The successful applicant will undertake a 12 month placement based in the Boeing facility in Sheffield as a Project Engineer Intern to provide project support to Research and Development projects, Manufacturing Technology Integration focused on manufacturing operations in the site.
Position responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform a role within the Research and Technology group and their time on the internship interacting with operational groups stakeholders from across the Sheffield site and its external suppliers.
- Ensuring Project Management best practice to result in successful project start up and execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Help develop project plans and define deliverables that meet identified requirements, and Customer expectations.
- Take ownership of programme/project operating rhythms.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
- Support project change requests.
- Preparation of presentation material for internal and external meetings.
- Report project status and performance metrics to program leadership team and Customer.
- Establish and maintain communications and relationships with project and functional organisation.
- Identify and implement process, quality and productivity improvement action plans.
- Work with the Customer to proactively identify additional opportunities, and ways to improve levels of service.
- Promote a ‘Help Needed’ culture where appropriately requesting help is encouraged and those providing help are held accountable.
- Apply industry standards and any available data source for best practices, lessons learned, historical and forecast data to perform trend, earned value and variance analyses to create a baseline project plan.
- Instill a proactive nature and maximizing project value & impact by aligning with key stakeholders.
About you
Essential Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Right to work in UK - We do not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.
- Studying a degree course or have graduated a degree course within last 2 years
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Knowledge of project management
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- IT proficient (particularly Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills with a focus for detail
- Machining Knowledge and/or Experience
- Production Experience
- Business (financial) acumen
- Driving for business results
- Customer satisfaction focus
- Experience of digital process simulation tools, data science or programming would be a benefit.
Relocation:
