Job summary
The role will include supporting the wider Finance team in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, analysing financial reporting and preparing reporting to department heads as part of an evolving monthly review process. This will also include reviewing existing processes and controls with a view to making these more efficient and robust as we seek to develop our overall financial reporting process. In addition, the role will include regular daily and weekly reporting as well as specific financial analysis over key areas such as Studio costs, IT costs, Marketing Costs and Facilities costs, seeking to identify potential risks and opportunities and potential enhancements for the business.
What you'll be doing
- Assist in preparation of Management Accounts to be issues within 4-5 working days of month end. Key areas of responsibility will include studio costs, IT costs, marketing costs and other elements of fixed costs, including facilities and travel costs, with the opportunity to get more exposure to other areas of the P+L and balance sheet.
- Report departmental costs to Management & Department heads, including analysis of key trends and changes, comparisons to budget and reforecasts and identifying potential risks & opportunities in our financial reporting and costs.
- Pro-actively look for opportunities to improve reporting and analysis to better support stakeholders, as business requirements increase over time.
- Review month end processes and suggest improvements in procedures.
- Responsible for reporting and tracking of creative costs involved in shoots with talent/brand ambassadors.
- Responsible for the production of the PLT Marketplace P+L.
- Monthly Marketing Affiliates reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget process and quarterly reforecasts.
- Accruals and Prepayments for Departments, as well as some Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of the Fixed Asset Register, including posting of depreciation/amortisation.
- Liaising with Purchase Ledger team to ensure correct coding/posting of invoices and reviewing supplier statement reconciliations for the departments you are responsible for.
- Other ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required.
- Invoice approval in Medius (OCR invoicing tool)

More about you
- Good communications skills.
- Advanced in excel is a must.
- Highly numerical and analytical.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Qualified or Part Qualified in CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW or ACA.
- The ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively.
