Job description
As Graduate Application Engineer you will join a high performing team, where you will be supported to learn on the job to develop the technical and professional expertise needed to develop Bosch braking systems for UK car manufacturers. Ideally you will already be customer focused and have an interest in working with premium car brands and new technologies.
Key role responsibilities
- Developing and calibrating functions like "Anti-Lock Brake System" (ABS), "Traction Control System" (TCS) and "Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control" (VDC).
- Testing above mentioned functions in simulation and prototype vehicles on test tracks both in the UK and internationally.
- Testing, calibrating and verifying the software and calibration in both test vehicles and via simulation.
- Working closely with individual UK car manufacturers to understand their requirements.
- Travelling to customer and Bosch sites in UK and internationally to support customer needs.

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering subject i.e. Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Basic programming skills: eg MATLAB, C etc.
- Understanding of vehicle dynamics and control engineering
- Commitment to delivering customer requirements for economic and high quality solutions, while adhering to leading processes of the automotive industry (Automotive SPICE).
- Good collaboration, cooperation and interpersonal skills including with colleagues located remotely and internationally.
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- MS office skills
- Able to travel locally and internationally as the required in the role, to fulfil customer requirements and develop your capability. This is extremely likely to include a month period working at our headquarters in Abstatt, Germany to build up a network there and to learn all needed procedures for the job.
Desirable skills
- Passion for cars/motorsports.
- Previous participation in relevant Formula student topics.
- Basic German skills an advantage.
