Job Description
Join us for your placement year in summer 2023! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community.
During your 12 month internship in our Research & Development team, you will have the opportunity to support on a range of design & mechanical engineering topics and become an integral part of the team. You will gain experience:
- CAD modelling & technical drawings
- Design workshop and rapid prototypes
- Operating and maintaining 3D printers
- Testing appliances
- Liaising with colleagues and suppliers internationally
You will be working in a team with, and learning from, talented engineers with a variety of skills.
There will also be the opportunity for a few weeks of the placement to support our Contact Centre, answering inbound phone calls. This will allow you to develop and enhance your communication skills for the future, focusing and interacting directly with the Bosch Customer base.
Qualifications
Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet this criteria please consider applying for other positions. Our ideal candidate should:
- Be studying an engineering based degree
- Be a capable 3D CAD user and able to interpret & create technical drawings.
- Have good organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Have the ability to adapt quickly to changing working environments and is ready to embrace new ways of working through digitalisation.
- Have the confidence to challenge and create new ideas.
- Have the capability to work well in a team as well as independently, using own initiative.
- Have a quality mind-set with high attention to detail.
- Be able to communicate confidently with people at all levels, both written and verbal (including on the telephone).
- Be IT literate and confident in using MS Office packages as well as learning Company systems.
Additional Information
- Expected Start Date: June 2023 (date negotiable)
- Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 08.00 - 17.00 and Fri 08.00 - 16.00 with a 1 hour unpaid lunchbreak
- Please note: there is a requirement to travel both nationally and internationally for this role.
