What you will be doing
You will work as part of the Boskalis Subsea Services Finance team responsible for providing financial support across various areas of the department to gain a full understanding of the finance remit within the business.
This includes projects, reporting, assets, and forecasting. When working on projects, the type of work will vary in size, complexity and duration. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience within the wider finance function of Boskalis and there will be opportunities for overseas travel.
What you will be learning
Next to learning on the job during your assignments, we offer an extensive personal development program in between your assignments. You will be able to set personal development goals as well as follow training courses where you can work on your leadership style, communication, and stakeholder management.
Next to personal and leadership development we find it important to give you the opportunity to become a better professional: specific, mainly internal, finance courses are added to the program (for example how to deal with international taxation and hedging of foreign currencies). You will get introductions to various departments like treasury, insurance, group reporting and the like. External trainers and coaches and a Boskalis mentor are there to guide you.
Your responsibility as Graduate Finance Controller will involve 3 rotations of approximately 6 months each across the Subsea Services Finance Team. This will provide exposure to all aspects a wide range of financial experience including project accounting, internal and external financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting as well as tax and transactional accounting. You will interpret the story behind the figures, utilising your insights and analytical skills to ensure that the right decisions are being made.
Your Qualities
This is what you need to make your mark as a Graduate Project Controller:
- Degree qualified, preferably within Accounting, Finance or Business disciplines with completion of course by September 2022 at the latest
- Pro-active, flexible, good in building relationships, taking ownership, eager to learn and quickly understand the bigger picture
- Good communication & organisational skills
- Confident user of excel to advanced level
- Full time availability starting September 26, 2022 – if you wish to start sooner we can discuss this, but we cannot guarantee this
- Some relevant experience within a finance function or similar is desirable
- Willingness to travel abroad for visits to other Boskalis offices or potential assignments
