About the roles
You will work with teams of Product Owners, Service Owners, Architects and other specialists to develop, improve and craft new digital products and services. You will focus in one of two areas: Platform architecture
- Helping to architect, roadmap and deploy new capabilities for our core digital platforms:
- Cloud Compute & Storage (including Edge, Container & Serverless)
- Network Connectivity
- Data & Analytics
- Developer Platforms & Pipelines
- Digital Workplace
- Digital Systems and telemetry
Solution architecture
Working within Innovation and Intelligent Operations teams for our Production & Operations business. Deploy new digital capabilities in service of:
- Low Carbon & Sustainability
- Refining Optimisation & Performance
- Production Management
- Subsurface & Wells
- Finance, Treasury & Tax
- HR systems
- Procurement
One Digital
The One Digital Early Careers programme is a two-year programme, comprising two 12-month rotations, designed to give you the opportunity to build technical depth and breadth of experience. It will provide a range of foundational career experiences and a gateway to an exciting and rewarding digital career.
Requirements
To apply for this role, you'll need a 2:1 degree, or equivalent, in computer science or STEM subjects including Maths, Statistics or various engineering or science degrees. We also welcome applications from those with a Masters degree.
You’ll also need to be in your final year of study or have completed your degree. You must demonstrate exposure to the field Technology via study, voluntary activity or work experience and articulate rationale for why you want to pursue a role in Technology.
Desirable skills
Use of development methodologies (Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban) with experience in development. If you're fairly new to coding, you demonstrate your ability to rapidly explore new technologies, development fundamentals (in high-level languages such a C#/Java/Python/R).
For those interested in platform architecture opportunities, exposure to compute platforms, storage, databases, networks or practical experience using REST-based APIs may be useful.
As this is a technical role if you are successful in progressing to the on-demand video interview stage a short coding test will follow the interview. The output from the test will be reviewed alongside the other elements of the assessment process; the test is not pass or fail.
