About the role
The Group Finance Assistant supports the Group Reporting team with the external reporting of Britvic’s consolidated financial statements on a half yearly basis (interim report at 31 March and annual report at 30 September). On a monthly basis, this role is responsible for the robust accounting and reporting of financial information for the Group’s non-trading entities (parent company, intermediate holding companies, companies holding IP).
This opportunity is suitable for a recent graduate, accounts assistant, or part-qualified accountant looking to complete their exams and qualify as a chartered accountant.
Key responsibilities
Periodic management reporting for non-trading entities
- Prepare and post journals into SAP accounting system
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and reporting packs
- Load of non-trading entity results to BPC consolidation system
Half-yearly external reporting
- Update and review of reporting packs used by entities across the Group to submit disclosure information
- Preparation of consolidated disclosure notes
- Assisting with quality checks on annual/interim reports and result announcements (proof reading / casting / internal consistency)
- Support with external audit queries
Statutory reporting
- Preparation of statutory accounts for the non-trading entities using the OneSource accounts production software
- Liaising with external auditors to provide information required for statutory audits
- Preparation of survey submissions for Office of National Statistics and other regulatory bodies
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Good attention to detail
- A proactive individual who will take initiative and raise questions when faced with uncertainty
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality output in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Managing stakeholder expectations around key deliverables
- Experience of successful collaboration across teams
- Essential systems experience: Microsoft Excel
- Beneficial systems experience: SAP/BPC
