    Job purpose

    The role of the Graduate Development Surveyor is to develop your expertise and creative thinking to help innovate and solve development challenges.

    You will work collaboratively with other team members and contribute to wider team projects. You will aim to become a skilled expert who wants to deliver a brilliant experience to customers, stakeholders and colleagues.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Supporting with the delivery of key projects working collaboratively with the portfolio teams and reporting into a Development Manager in Bruntwood
    • Support the Development team on reviewing potential viable growth opportunities, developing knowledge and experience to understand how to financially model scenarios
    • Develop a detailed understanding of the Bruntwood proposition and specification documents and processes
    • Develop your knowledge of the industry including commercial knowledge, sustainability knowledge, planning guidelines and building design principles
    • Work alongside a development manager to develop skills and understanding of design and delivery of schemes
    • Assist the teams to manage development appraisals and assess costs vs. return to ensure the correct balance throughout the project and the best possible experience and outcome for all parties involved.
    • Engage with the wider internal team on projects by building trusted key relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues in finance, retail, commercial, asset management and building surveying.
    • With the support of your manager, you’ll learn to take ownership of work for your area, and develop an understanding of development appraisals and assessments of project viability.
    • Aim to utilise your developed knowledge and apply it to your own projects

    What we’re looking for

    • You’ll have a Degree or Masters level equivalent, ideally this will be in a property related discipline
    • You’ll have a passion and interest for property and development, always pushing yourself to learn and grow.
    • You’ll be resilient and able to manage a number of conflicting priorities at the same time, whilst making sure nothing ever drops.
    • You’ll enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment and will thrive on change and innovation.
    • You’ll be passionate about sustainability and our sustainability mission as a business
    • You’ll have good levels of numeracy and literacy which lead you to communicate and evaluate pieces of work effectively and thoroughly.
