Structural Engineering Graduate Leicester Vacancy, BSP Consulting has an immediate vacancy in our Leicester office for a structural engineering graduate to work within our experienced structural engineering design team.

Responsibilities
The structural Engineering Graduate Vacancy role will involve being able to operate with guidance in the production of basic design solutions when provided with constraints.
The role will also involve being able to operate, autonomously with minimal guidance in relation to design updates, drafting and detailing.
The successful candidate will undertake and respond to project based queries by telephone or other means and feedback to others in the team.
A logical analytical approach to problem solving should be demonstrated.
The Structural Engineering Leicester office team use industry standard software including TEDDS, TEKLA, and CSC Portal Frame Designer. Hand calculations are also undertaken.
The role will include being involved with the design and drafting of structural engineering works for a variety of sectors.
BSP Consulting designs range from multi-storey structures to small housing schemes and range in construction value from £250,000 to £30M.
Many projects are undertaken to BIM level 2.
The team works for clients throughout the East Midlands and United Kingdom.
Experience
Specific experience in the use of AutoCAD for technical drawing will ideally be demonstrated at interview.
The successful candidate will be given on the job guidance to achieve their individually led development and they will work closely with the other members of the structural engineering team.
We operate an ICE registered graduate training scheme which will be open to the successful candidate.
The role will involve the design of structures using the common construction materials of steel, timber, masonry and reinforced concrete and a sound knowledge of geotechnical engineering will also be required.
Client care is of paramount importance to us as a company, as is the ongoing development and wellbeing of our staff.
The successful candidate will be an able communicator, both in written English and verbally, in person and on the telephone.
Knowledge of the construction industry and basic health and safety is essential.
Education
The role would suit a BSc/BEng (Hons) qualified civil engineering graduate.
Additionally we would consider an experienced, HND qualified civil engineering senior technician.
This role will include the design and drafting of structural engineering works for a wide ranging, variety of sectors.

Location: Leicester
Hours of work: A minimum of 37.5 hours per week, core hours are 9am until 4pm, Monday to Friday where staff are required to be at work.
Holidays: Allowance is in line with industry standard and is subject to relevant experience.
