About us
Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School is seeking to employ a sports graduate to join our outstanding PE department and enhance our provision further from ideally September 2022. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an educational setting by contributing to our sports and co-curricular programmes.
About the role
The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of PE and coaching across the curriculum. You will have coaching or playing experience in at least one of our main sports: football, rugby, netball, tennis, cricket or athletics. You will be flexible, positive in your approach, and able to work as part of a dynamic team. You will be willing to participate fully in a busy and successful school.
Working Monday to Friday in term time and the occasional weekend/holiday sports event, you will become part of a developing programme which has high aspirations. Applicants will have the opportunity to work alongside outstanding practitioners in an environment which fosters high achievement and high standards. There will be an opportunity to coach the elite level performers via the sports squads and the potential to be part of the SHFGS sports tour programme.
The post would be ideally suited to someone wishing to pursue a career in PE teaching or sports coaching, as the school may be able to offer a teacher training placement the following year through a local SCITT programme.
