    We are looking for a graduate with an inquiring mind and a sociable disposition to join our Business Services team.

    The company secretarial team forms part of the Business Services Group. This group provides a wide range of professional services that include bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts, regulatory reporting to the FCA, VAT advice and returns, payroll services, HR consultancy and – of course – company secretarial services. The company secretarial team also collaborates strongly with our tax team.

    Training

    The successful candidate will be provided with full training by senior members of the team. The successful candidate will also work towards obtaining a professional qualification issued by Chartered Governance Institute (GradCG) by doing exams and gaining relevant experience at work. Buzzacott will partner with a tuition provider and will provide full study support

    Key aspects of the role include

    • Develop an ability to carry out research and solve problems by using accounting data, statutory legislation and other material – all with support and advice from more senior members of the team.
      • Support clients to ensure they remain compliant with the Companies Act 2006 by, for example, ensuring that statutory filings are made accurately and within deadlines.
    • Assist with the maintenance of our client’s statutory records and incorporating new legal entities.
    • Provide colleagues in other teams with advice and training on matters of company law and compliance.
    • Provide board and committee meeting support, including preparing board packs, attending meetings and taking the minutes.
    • Respond to team members’ and clients’ queries promptly and support the team with billing and other internal processes.
    • Study towards the GradCG qualification and keep up to date with developments within the profession.
      • Take responsibility for professional development, drawing on knowledge from within the company secretarial team and the accounting and tax teams

    You are the right person for the role if

    • 2.1 degree in any discipline or equivalent
      • 120 UCAS tariff points (300 using old UCAS tariff) from 3 A-levels or equivalent (Excluding General Studies and resits)
      • Excellent GCSE results with a minimum of level 5 (B grade using the old system) in GSCE Maths and English Language, or equivalent
