About Us

The Cambridge Master of Finance provides an academically rigorous and commercially relevant master’s level degree in finance combined with excellent resources to support career development.

The Master of Finance has been designed in consultation with the banking and finance industry and provides a first-class training for ambitious and successful finance professionals wishing to strengthen their existing knowledge of finance.

The Cambridge MFin focuses on the theory and practice of finance, drawing upon the University of Cambridge’s long heritage of excellence in teaching and research.

  • We are one of only a few Master of Finance programmes in which 100% of the class has existing work experience in finance.

  • The Master of Finance is taught within Cambridge Judge Business School – a world-class provider of business education that has strong links with the banking and finance industry.

  • The School is situated at the heart of the University of Cambridge – a world-renowned institution with an outstanding heritage of teaching and research in finance.

  • Finance practitioners play a central role in the delivery of the programme – through teaching, seminars and involvement in projects.

  • All of this combines to produce an exciting array of opportunities through which to develop your career in the finance industry.

The programme consists of:

  • Core courses, providing a rigorous grounding in the foundations of finance

  • A range of electives covering the main areas of applied finance

  • Projects, enabling the integration of theory and practice

  • A choice of a number of summer activities

  • A weekly City Speaker Series seminar

What we look for

  • At least a high UK 2:1 or equivalent, although a First Class degree is strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of two years' graduate work experience in a core finance or finance-related role. If you have two years' graduate work experience, but only one year of finance-related experience, you may still be eligible to apply.

  • Ambition and a willingness to work hard, as there will be a lot to cover in the programme. Evidence of good interpersonal communication and teamworking skills, in addition to numeracy, problem-solving and reasoning skills.
