The role
We are currently looking to recruit a Trainee NDT Technician for a development role in our Base NDT department at our Aberdeen facility. As well as working within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, the successful candidate will enjoy structured training and career development in the field of NDT.
This role is a full-time position working Monday to Friday; overtime may be required as well as offshore and nationwide travel as part of the role.
Candidates should possess the following skills, however as this is a Trainee role, training and mentoring will be provided:
Essential
- Good educational background with Higher Grade (or equivalent) passes in English, Mathematics and a Science / Technology based subject.
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic, proactive and highly self-motivated
- Flexible approach to working
- Possess a positive and mature attitude
- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal/client interfacing skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and ability to learn and operate bespoke databases
- Possess a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles & practices
- Ability to pass the mandatory medical and offshore survival training
- Willingness to travel to offshore/onshore sites when required
- Willingness and capability to build on existing skills and develop professionally
- Willingness to attend courses as and when required
Desirable
- Degree / HNC / HND qualified in, or working towards, an Engineering Science discipline
- Knowledge of Inspection and NDT techniques and their application in industry
