    Job Description

    Dynamic, technology lending work experience with our Innovation Banking team, through CIBC’s Summer Analyst programme.

    Through our Innovation Banking summer Analyst programme, you will earn direct work experience and exposure to the London Innovation Banking team at CIBC.  Our specialist team helps entrepreneurs and investors of high-growth software companies, by providing the growth capital they need to scale and achieve their ambitions.

    Responsibilities

    As an Innovation Banking Summer Analyst you will have the opportunity to:

    • Learn about the venture capital market for technology start-ups and how CIBC supports the software ecosystem across North America and Europe with non-dilutive capital
    • Work within deal teams on any live transactions taking place, gaining experience in debt structuring, commercial negotiation and relationship management
    • Contribute to our outreach and coverage of investors and scaling companies across Europe
    • Assist in idea generation, market analysis, and the risk monitoring of our clients
    • Work on branding and marketing initiatives, supporting our thought leadership on the software sector
    • Feel part of a small, hard-working and close-knit team

    Key Requirements

    • Student in a finance/quantitative discipline with strong academic results
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills
    • A team player who can communicate complex ideas simply and effectively
    • Fluent in English and the right to work in the UK
