The role
We are seeking a Data Quality Analyst within our Data Quality team to help develop a quality data culture across Canopius. Assisting in the establishment and operation of data quality structures and processes, the definition, implementation and operation of Data Quality standards, and implementation and operation of the DQ toolset.
The Analyst will be an SME in all things data quality, able to provide support and advice on request, and be able to act with delegated authority in supporting projects achieving and reporting on compliance to Policies and Standards.
The role requires data analysis and business analysis skills, with ability to profile and analyse data, undertake analysis of data quality issues as reported, understand the quality issues and be able to investigate causes and make recommendations on remediation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Member of the Data Quality Team contributing to the definition and delivery of our Data Quality Framework and supporting processes
- Champion and SME providing support and advice as required to the business, and stakeholders with defined network of data roles such as Data Owners, Data Stewards, etc;
- Work with the wider DG and DQ Team and business stakeholders to monitor our data quality using tools such as DQ Pro
- Develop new data quality rules in DQ Pro using SQL skill and enhancing existing ones.
- Undertake the profiling and analysis of data against the Data Quality dimensions identifying data that requires investigation and analysis from both business and technical perspectives
- Undertake investigation and analysis of data quality issues as they are reported to identify the impact of the issue, the risks associated with it, the root cause(s) and potential remediation options
- Support the collation and publishing of all required MI on Data Quality
- Assist in the defining of Data Quality standards, and their application across the business
- Recording and collating data incidents and associated action plans, in conjunction with Data Owners, Risk, Information Security, Compliance, Data Stewards reporting to Data Working Groups, unless material when will report to the Data Governance Committee
- Support through membership of the Data Quality Working Group in its activities in respect of defect management
- Development of good internal client relationships
- Management of own task list and appropriate prioritisation within overall team, department and company requirements.

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Strong SQL skills to analyse and manipulate data
- Knowledge of best practices in data quality analysis
- Good communication and presentation skills and be an excellent cross-functional team player - You will be working with stakeholders at all levels of the business and all business functions, and therefore will need to have stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of Insurance Market would be beneficial.
