We now have a great opportunity for an accountant in the early stages of their career to join our Syndicate Finance Team and benefit from excellent training and full study support. This role is responsible for assisting the Syndicate Finance team in the effective production and delivery of financial information for the Canopius 4444 syndicate.
Responsibilities will include
Quarterly & Monthly Reporting:
- Provide flexible support for the delivery of the syndicate result & the production of the balance sheet
- Support the Syndicate Finance team in various monthly and quarterly accounting activities
- Aid in developing and fostering a culture of continuous improvement,
- Assist in the offshoring of syndicate activities, suggesting future improvements to the current model
Finance Team Development / Interaction:
- Contribute new ideas for fresh analysis, improvement of process and for making better use of technology
- Work directly with other areas of the Finance team (Group Finance, Regulatory Reporting, FP&A, Treasury, Capital, Tax) to ensure good communication and understanding between teams
- Work collaboratively with other teams in the resolutions of queries, problems and in the improvement of team functioning
Additional / Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Investigate and analyse issues that arise, and provide summaries and recommendations
- Implement improvements to existing processes
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical, modelling and mathematical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and focused on the delivery of high quality work
- Currently studying or keen to begin studying for professional accountancy qualifications
