The Central Support Team (CST) is responsible for system support within Capita Local Government Services (LGS). The project team manages the delivery of projects within CST and to our LGS sites and clients. You will be responsible for managing business and IT projects that will vary in scale and complexity

Job Description

Responsibilities include

  • Leading and delivering business and IT projects, in a secure technical environment, involving multiple work streams and in line with quality, time and cost tolerances
  • Using Capita's Evolve methodology, aligned to PRINCE2, to manage projects through their full lifecycle to a successful closure
  • Establishing and using governance to facilitate successful delivery of projects including initiation documents, project plans, risk and issue registers, communication strategies, work packages, highlight reports and project closure reports
  • Chairing internal and external meetings, workshops & presentations, maintaining records of meetings and using actions to drive projects
  • Pro-active risk, assumption, issue and dependency management
  • Forecasting, recording and managing project expenditure
  • Stakeholder management including routinely engaging with and communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Building and maintaining productive working relationships with other project managers, delivery teams and stakeholders
  • Benefits planning and realisation tracking to ensure that that the success of a project can be effectively measured after its implementation
  • Being aware of and contributing to both project and technical change control processes
  • Being aware of and working to the required legal and security compliance standards and corporate disciplines
  • Providing leadership to project delivery teams and supporting other project managers on the team

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Experience managing IT and business projects involving multiple work streams in a regulated environment
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or working towards it
  • Competent using MS Project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Experience/Skills

  • Experience working in a local government or BPO environment
  • Experience working to Capita’s Evolve methodology
