    The European Power Principal Investment business is looking to hire a Placement Year Intern to the London- based team to facilitate their growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join and learn from a preeminent investment team with outstanding track-record and substantial capital deployment target into the European energy transition theme. It is a close-knit team looking to hire a passionate analyst, to develop their career, forging them into a top tier investment professional.

    What you'll do 

    • Work alongside senior members of the Principal Investment team to originate and execute investment opportunities within the European market
    • Opportunity to support and gain exposure to entire spectrum on investment lifecycle - M&A valuation, deal execution, portfolio management, debt raise and refinancing, research
    • High level financial analysis and modelling to evaluate equity and debt opportunities, giving you the chance to make a valuable contribution to the team's performance and growth
    • Preparing materials for board and investment committee approvals both pre investment and on an ongoing basis
    • Analysis of complex financial and energy markets data
    • Analyze market trends to support investment thesis for existing and future investments
    • Proactively engage & collaborate with key stakeholders (such as trading, risk, legal, middle & back office) to ensure proper and timely closing of transactions
    • Maintain and update various databases and market intelligence

    Qualifications

    • Pursing a degree in ideally finance, economics, mathematics or engineering (other degrees considered with demonstrable experience of corporate finance)
    • Prior experience within private equity, investment banking or corporate finance is nice to have but not required
    • Financial modeling, presentation, oral and written communication skills need to be excellent
    • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently within a small team environment
    • Passion for investment in energy transition space
    • Interest and knowledge of the energy transition and European energy markets
