This program is open to recent college graduates and professionals with industry experience and is designed to build the employees skill sets within a specific industry; following completion of the program, you will move to either a field-based position supporting Caterpillar Dealers and customers or to another long-term position that will then lead to a field-based role.
What is the Program?
Each person hired into the Caterpillar Representative Development Program is assigned a coach to help guide your progression through the Program. You will receive personalized onboarding, soft-skill, sales and technical training specific to your field assignments, and participate in a variety of rotations across the business to ensure you have the means necessary to achieve your career goals.
Training
You will start your journey with a common 10-week training program (called the MTC “bedrock”) where you will learn about Caterpillar products, our Services, and the company strategies per industry, participate in influencing skills curriculum, build and expand your network and be exposed to dealers and customers in EAME region.
Rotations
Work in various roles throughout Caterpillar, learning strategy and products to help you advance in your future field position
Released with all the experience and knowledge you will need to partner with Caterpillar Dealers or initially with Caterpillar reps in some cases to drive strategy alignment and customer loyalty
Job placements support the employee to eventually become a Product Support Operations Representative.
The Product Support Operations Representative job duties include
- Facilitate/drive execution of strategic Service and Parts Operations initiatives
- Track the program metrics and attributes to attain global consistency among dealers and across industries
- Conduct detailed analysis of dealer Parts and Service operations with special emphasis on streamlining processes and improving dealer capability, capacity and profitability
- Support rollout of new products, services and solutions (e.g. products, parts, customer service agreements, other service solutions and initiatives)
- Sales Operations. Planning. Gather future events expected on the market that will influence the supply chain in collaboration with Aftermarket sales teams (Cat and Dealers) to support parts sales forecast needs.
- Liaising with dealers, customers and other Caterpillar personnel to analyze, identify and develop solutions that are strategic in nature.
- Lead project teams made of subject matter experts and drive dealer transformation through innovation, prioritization, and execution of projects.
- Learn how to influence through strong communication skills to sustain the engagement of your partners, internal (Cat) and external (Dealers) and to drive strategic alignment and customer loyalty
Required Qualifications
- Requires a Business or Engineering degree or the equivalent
- Industry experience required
- Must be willing to travel 25%-70% depending on the role
- Good communication, leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Be willing to live in a different country for up to 3 months for a specific rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Previous technical internship or entry-level marketing experience preferred
- Demonstrated technical and non-technical aptitudes are highly desired
- Intermediate proficiency with any of the following: Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment, Diesel Engines, Natural Gas Engine
