    What do we do?

    Caterpillar’s Desford facility is part of the Building Construction Products (BCP) division, manufacturing a range of world class Backhoe Loaders and Compact Wheel Loaders, as part of the wider BCP range of products. Desford is more than just a production facility – it is home to a range of functions with global scope, including HR, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Marketing.

    This entry level graduate position will provide support to EAME Industry Sales Division Manager and team with data analysis, results tracking, events coordination, project management, communication, and coordination of division activities, managing community of Sales Reps and managing product-related special projects.

    This position is to develop the individual to prepare for a field-based Industry Sales Representative role or a Junior Product Specialist role. The candidate works as a Marketing Representative and will be required to:

    • Support the sales team: Analyse and identify sales opportunities; deep dive in sales programs and provide recommendations to increase profitability and maximize sales, assist field sales team with tasks as dealers forecast, sales/rental/used strategy planning, annual business planning.
    • Lead analytics projects to deliver business outcomes.
    • Manage and carry out manual and automated background data processes, including building and improving (continuous improvement) reporting and tracking tools.
    • Track and generate reports and produce professional presentations that communicate our division initiatives, progress, and results.
    • Work closely with various Product Groups. Work on new product information releases, develop product comparisons; competitive information releases, various communications media, etc; Build product knowledge skills to be able to achieve comfortable level of product presentations and walkarounds.
    • Support rollout of new products (e.g., products, parts, attachments, customer service agreements, other service products); support product improvement programs.
    • Develop a good understanding of product applications and proper maintenance practices and be able to articulate product issues as well as proposed solutions.
    • Develop understanding of Caterpillar warranty/goodwill policies and apply effectively in support of field issues.
    • Process Development and Implementation (Dealer Operations) – You will assist/lead projects related to Global Dealer Operational Excellence, working closely with Caterpillar Distribution Service Divisions.
    • Work closely with BCP Marketing and Retail teams to assist field team in developing Go-To-Market strategies.

    You will rotate through various areas in your developmental phase and may be selected for special assignment at a dealer location to gain additional experience. Time in developmental assignments will vary according to performance and opportunity to be placed into a field assignment.

    Qualifications

    • Applicants should have achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 in one of the following disciplines: business, engineering, finance, economics, statistics, or analytics.
    • Experience in one or more of the following: Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, MS Access, SQL, Python, Excel.
    • Relevant experience in marketing, product development, sales, business, economics, engineering, or project management.
    • Fluent in English and at least one other EAME language (French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Arabic would be an asset).

    Top candidates will also have

    • Strong levels of numeracy and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and make recommendations on based on facts and data as well as ambiguous data sources.
    • A structured approach to problem solving utilising quantitative and qualitative methods.
    • Good written and oral communications skills and the ability to articulate complex information in a simple and concise way. High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, with the ability to successfully build relationships with a diverse group of individuals.

    • Ability to prioritise effectively.
    • Ability to quickly adapt to complex changes, execute with ambiguity and drive advancement within the dealer organization.

    Please note, after the graduate scheme, future roles may require travel up to 50% as well as relocation.
