Your journey starts here! In joining CBRE’s Next Generation Graduate Scheme, you will be shaping the future of Commercial Real Estate. Our Graduate programme is 24 months long and provides you with the opportunity to experience and learn from multiple teams within our Environmental Consultancy Group before focussing on a pathway. You will gain a greater, in depth understanding from our market leaders and specialists who will share invaluable knowledge and experience with you.

    Pathway Overview

Our Environmental Consultancy Group works in a holistic and integrated approach across the property cycle. This allows us to offer our graduates four pathways that are not embedded in a single team but give the widest possible experience of sustainability in real estate or “Sustainability across the Property Cycle” as we call it:

    • Pathway 1: Investor & Occupier ESG – Strategic approach to delivering ESG across property portfolios considering the commercial, environmental, and social sustainability priorities of clients and CBRE UK’s own ESG strategy
    • Pathway 2: Environmental Risk & Impact Assessment – Environmental transactional due diligence for real estate investors and investment managers as well as the assessment of environmental impacts for major new developments
    • Pathway 3: Sustainability Advisory & Certification – Sustainability strategy, assessment and certification for both new developments and major refurbishment projects considering BREEAM, wellbeing standards and whole life carbon
    • Pathway 4: Net Zero Assessment, Risk & Portfolio Strategy - Assessing the energy and carbon performance of new and existing buildings across portfolios to identify risks and opportunities to enhance energy efficiency and achieve net zero status

Our graduates rotate across each of the above pathways during their first year. Once you have completed your first-year rotation you will be able to focus on a pathway to gain a greater depth of understanding. Whilst our graduate programme is based in London our clients and work span the UK. This gives great scope to gain a wide range of experiences, working on different projects and with a greater degree of autonomy early on in your career.

    Role Purpose

Whether our clients are leasing, transacting, redeveloping or managing land and buildings, our Environmental Consultancy teams provide expert guidance so our clients can manage risks and constraints, measure and improve carbon footprint, certify buildings and enhance sustainability and wellbeing.

We partner with our clients to set environmental, social and governance strategies and then translate this through frameworks and KPIs into tangible outcomes across the entire property lifecycle. Allowing clients to progress sustainable improvements at each touch point on the property cycle/

We pride ourselves on our depth and breadth of technical experts across a wide range of disciplines – from chartered energy engineers and managers, accredited BREEAM, LEED, ISO & Wellness sustainability professionals, through to chartered water and environmental managers – as well as our commercial understanding and focus on finding the best solution.
