About the role
We welcome applications from applicants with experience in either examination (whole item, full body fluid searching) or DNA Interpretation, although this is not an essential requirement and training can be extended and tailored around whatever experience potential trainees have, with an aim to continue to build on the skills required to provide a good foundation for reporting. The successful candidates will be required to complete expert witness training and assessment to present evidence in court.
Duties will include
To ensure we have sufficient forensic reporting capacity within Forensic Operations we are looking to fill vacancies for Entry Level (trainee) Biology Forensic Reporting Scientists in both the Abingdon and Chorley Reporting Teams.
For successful candidates, the initial training will focus on blood, saliva and cellular DNA cases, with a view to subsequently training to report other body fluids, sexual offences and further evidence types (potentially including chemistry) in the future.
