You have done some fantastic learning to date; we want to support your journey by adding in some real-world experience. Our Commercial Analyst Year in Industry Programme aims to compliment your studies and accelerate your development, hopefully setting you up for a limitless career whilst being part of our team!

Here’s what you will be doing

As a Commercial Analyst YINI, you will take on a year-long placement, which could range all the way from customer insight, to highly technical positions, to analytical roles in some of the most innovative areas of our business.

From evaluating Hive customer behaviour in highly competitive retail markets, to predicting how much energy our British Gas consumers will need in the future, to developing strategies which influence Centrica’s direction within the UK’s renewable energy and services market. This placement will give you the experience you need to get your career on the right track and prepare you for graduate life.

You’ll be stretched and challenged throughout the programme, as you work with diverse data sets and get to grips with industry-leading analytics and customer insight tools. There will be lots of opportunities for you to learn along the way, not just through formal training sessions, but also from the more experienced analysts working alongside you. Throughout your year at Centrica you will be constantly developing your interpersonal skillset with transferrable learnings such as stakeholder management and presentation styles that you can carry with you throughout your career. There will be a broad support network available, to ensure you are getting the most out of every placement, including a mentor scheme and graduate buddy scheme.

The programme will take a lot of hard work and initiative on your part. In return you’ll get to develop career-boosting skills and could earn yourself a place on our 2026 Graduate programme.

We want you to experience as much as possible and be able to soak up and learn about the wonderful world of commercial analysis life at Centrica. Throughout the programme, you will be provided with an unparalleled level of support with access to buddies, mentors, and experienced line managers, as well as having a ready-made network of graduates across the business to tap into.
