Our Commercial & Marketing Year in Industry Programme aims to compliment your studies and accelerate your development, hopefully setting you up for a limitless career in Commercial & Marketing whilst being part of our team!
Commercial & Marketing is pivotal to our success; This placement is designed to help you gain a broad variety of skills such as Brand, Product Development, Marketing, Insight and Sales to name a few, where the customer and commercials are the heart of the placements.
Role Description
Your responsibilities could range all the way from gathering customer insight, to coming up with new product ideas; or developing material for TV and social media campaigns. And there’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to enhance your commercial awareness and develop your leadership and business management skills. It’s a fantastic chance to work with exciting Centrica brands like British Gas, Hive, Local Heroes and Centrica Business Solutions.
We want you to experience as much as possible and be able to soak up and learn about the wonderful world of Commercial and Marketing and life at Centrica. We will be with you throughout your journey to give you all the support you need! You will also have the chance to earn a place on our 2025 Graduate programme following your final year of university, based on your performance while on the Year in Industry Programme.

Who You Are
We’re looking for passionate, original thinkers with a natural flair for solving problems and a love for understanding and engaging with other people. In addition, we would like you to demonstrate:
- Predicted minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Master’s)
- Willing to relocate and try new things
- Someone with great initiative and creative problem-solving skills
- Customer focus combined with a good understanding of how to deliver commercial value
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Free to start your Year in Industry placement on 4th July 2023
- Looking to start your Graduate career in 2025
