    Here’s what you’ll be doing

    Our 12-month Year in Industry Programme offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth experience of the breadth of activities and tasks undertaken by a procurement professional in a large organisation.  Your role will be in one of our teams, working for a Category Manager and you could be involved on projects for British Gas or Centrica Energy.  The procurement function is based in Windsor (main base), but we also have offices in Leicester and Hull and some travel may be required.

    We will give you the opportunity to gain experience in live projects within high-profile roles.  In the Procurement team, we are responsible for purchasing goods and services for the business.  You might get involved in buying Solar panels and products from China, or purchasing equipment for our engineers, for their vans.   You might be involved in contract negotiations with a new Tech supplier to deliver exciting new innovations for our business.  You may assist in the tender process for a new Marketing agency, or consultancy, or for body worn cameras for our workforce.  We run e-auctions (online bidding for suppliers) and you may take responsibility for managing one.  These are all projects that our Early Careers students and graduates have worked on in recent years.

    You will develop a number of skills while on programme such as :

    • Project management
    • Basic negotiation
    • Problem solving and finding solutions
    • Contract knowledge
    • How to set up the best commercial deals with suppliers
    • Strong communication skills
    • Great people and team working skills

    Throughout the programme, you will be provided with an unparalleled level of support with access to buddies, mentors, and experienced line managers, as well as having a ready-made network of graduates across the business to tap into.

    Procurement and Supply Chain knowledge is not expected – you will learn that when you are with us. 

    We have a few must-haves

    • Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Masters)
    • Willingness to relocate within the UK to make the most of the opportunities we offer
    • In the office a minimum of 2 days a week
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
    • Have the right to work in the UK
    • Available to start the programme from 18th June 2024 – 31st July 2025
