    We are looking for Graduates or School leavers that are keen to start their professional career with an innovative Insurance business that loves to challenge the status quo. Due to continued growth we have a new opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant to join our Life Science team.

    Our team has grown substantially over the last few years and have a global broker base, focussing on our key territories of North America, UK, Europe and Australia. We offer a cross class package solution, with the types of policy we offer our brokers designed to suit end clients ranging from research companies to medical device companies to dietary supplement companies, as well as those who are sponsoring clinical trials.

    About the Role

    As an Underwriting Assistant you will support the end to end underwriting process from logging and processing submissions on CFC’s underwriting system. You’ll work closely with CFC underwriters.

    You’ll develop a thorough understanding of CFC’s workflow processes and systems as well gaining exposure to insurance. A role as an underwriting assistant provides a great foundation for a career at CFC, with a number of our underwriters and underwriting team leaders starting their careers here! Day to day responsibilities will see you:

    • Providing excellent administrative support to underwriting teams to ensure CFC can adhere to target turnaround times for our brokers and insureds.
    • Managing the underwriting central inboxes and logging new and renewal submissions on CFC’s internal underwriting system.
    • Preparing various activity reports and spreadsheets as directed.
    • Administering the department diary, including chasing outstanding items such as subjectivities and renewal business.
    • Answering incoming calls and fielding queries as appropriate
    • General ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

    About you

    We are looking for passionate individuals with a keen interest in a career in Insurance and the Life Science sector. You will have:

    • Impeccable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines and turnaround times.
    • Resilient and able to operate effectively and accurately under pressure.
    • Excellent level of attention to detail including accurate written and numeracy skills.
    • Good communications skills both written and verbal.
    • Above all you’re a team player!

    With the emerging nature of Life Science, a degree or studies in a relevant scientific or medical field would be an advantage
