Role Definition
As the Underwriting Support Coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating and providing general assistance to key underwriting support and administration functions, such as ensuring that central support resources and tasks are shared and allocated fairly across all underwriting teams through proactive engagement with underwriting assistants.
Your duties will include facilitating the day-to-day performance of the function, including business processes such as enquiry logging, data quality reports, and query handling. You may be asked to answer escalated queries in relation to these processes and provide hands-on support as needed.
In this role, you will be an important member of the underwriting operations team, working closely with the Underwriting Support Manager and other team members to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the support function.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Providing support to the Underwriting Support Manager in managing the support function.
- Assisting with all critical support operations. Ensuring strong service standards and performance from underwriting assistants.
- Analysing and auditing underwriting data to detect trends and themes, which, can be used to improve underwriting support processes.
- Maintaining internal data spreadsheets, including entering and updating data, verifying the accuracy of information, and ensuring that data is organised and easily accessible.
- Creating, maintaining and enforcing shared underwriting support template documentation, along with centralised FAQs for the most common queries.
- Training new underwriting support employees and ensuring up to date training and skills for the entire function. This includes the creation and maintenance of training guides and a training program for current and new Underwriting Assistants.
- Acting as a centralised contact for internal stakeholders for escalated underwriting support queries and concerns.
