    Job summary

    Our Department of Chromatographic Bioanalysis here in Edinburgh uses advanced hyphenated chromatography techniques within a world class facility to support the quantitative analysis of drug candidates in discovery and development. Several opportunities exist for Industrial Placement candidates to develop their laboratory skills while contributing to the development of Human therapies.

    What your placement will include

    • Supporting the Responsible Scientist in the execution of Bioanalytical studies within a Good Laboratory Practice regulated laboratory. 
    • Processing of biological samples arising from pre-clinical and clinical studies. 
    • Set up and operation of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometer instrumentation. 
    • Integration and regression analysis using a Laboratory Information Management System. 
    Interested students should have: 
    • At least 2 years academic learning working towards an Honours degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related discipline. 
    • A desire to pursue a career in a Bioanalytical Chemistry. 
    • Strong communication skills, positive attitude and a drive to succeed.

From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.  Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
