The role will be working in the Real Estate and Construction teams and dealing with all types of property/property management and construction work for clients that the Division is engaged with.

Our Construction team provides transactional advice through to dispute avoidance and dispute resolution advice
relating to large-scale construction and engineering projects in the UK and internationally.
Assessment process
First round interviews and a short written assessment will take place in our Guildford office week commencing 18 March 2024, with final round interviews taking place in the week commencing 25 March 2024.
Please note you will need to be available to start the role on 13 May 2024 and will be required to attend the office full time in the first three months, after which the role follows our hybrid working arrangement of 60/40 working in the office and working remotely.
Roles and responsibilities
- Dealing with management applications; including preparing, granting and reviewing Licences, covering Licences to Assign, Underlet and Alterations.
- Supporting on disposals/acquisitions, including on lettings dealing with the process to exclude the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
- Supporting on enfranchisement and non-contentious property management work.
- Document review.
- Preparing completion statements.
- Obtaining and reviewing pre -exchange searches.
- Assisting with reports.
- Administering data rooms.
- Dealing with payments.
- Being a point of contact for clients/third parties.
- Dealing with transactional post completion matters including SDLT, the Land Registry applications for registration, Land Registry requisitions (application queries) and post completion registration administration.
- Transaction management for the team if required and keeping records up to date.
- Providing transactional progress reports for key clients.
- Supporting other teams and undertaking research as required.
- Assisting with drafting construction contracts, including consultant appointments and collateral warranties.
- Negotiating construction contracts with consultants and contractors.
- Project managing large volumes of contracts and keeping track of the status of the documents at any one time, including keeping document trackers up to date.
- Checking the accuracy of engrossments of contracts such as appointments and collateral warranties and issuing documents for execution via DocuSign or hard copy engrossments.
- Complying with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.
Person specification
- Have a law degree or equivalent with a keen interest in Law.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Demonstrate excellent IT skills including Excel and Word and ideally some experience of Worksite and a case management system.
- Professional manner with the ability to work collaboratively across different levels.
- Be confident in both verbal and written communications.
