    We have a new opportunity for an Academy Assistant who will support the efficient delivery of end-to-end processes in Chatham House’s Academy team.

    The role

    The Academy brings together the next generation of global leaders and supports their development by providing the skills, knowledge and networks to affect positive change. We achieve this through our leadership training programme; flagship residential Academy Fellowships; Internship programme; and international youth-led dialogues via our Common Futures Conversations platform.

    We have a new opportunity for an Academy Assistant who will support the efficient delivery of end-to-end processes in Chatham House’s Academy team. The role will be varied and an opportunity for someone keen to learn and develop programme management, fundraising, community building and stakeholder engagement skills as part of a strategically ambitious team.

    Delivery

    • Keep the Academy’s records up to date in Chatham House’s systems, and provide support in preparation for meetings with existing and prospective funders.
    • Coordinate the delivery of next generation initiatives, notably the delivery of the Academy's leadership programme and weekly leadership sessions.
    • Carry out day-to-day financial administration processes alongside the Academy Manager.
    • Assist with the maintenance and updating of records held in the CRM (MS Dynamics) ensuring their accuracy.
    • Carry out other administrative tasks such as note taking and maintenance of records and files as the need arises. Suggest new processes or amendments to existing ones according to need.

    People

    • Work collaboratively with the team and across the House to help identify, engage and track new prospects to maximise fundraising opportunities for Chatham House’s Next Generation activities.
    • Help maintain and build the Academy’s public profile and online presence, including through social media outreach, newsletters and updates for key stakeholders.
    • Support the recruitment of fellows and help coordinate the logistics for individual fellows before and after their arrival, including flights, travel details and visas.
    • Support the coordination of induction week and logistics around onboarding new fellows, interns and Common Futures participants, including finance and HR processes.

    Strategy

    • Assist the team in the design and implementation of the leadership programme and other activities to help ensure initiatives continue to equip future leaders effectively.
    • Contribute ideas and ensure that all Next Generation activities are conducted in line with the equality, diversity and inclusion principles of Chatham House.
    • Support the maintenance of a monitoring and evaluation framework, including monitoring the progress of individual Fellows after the completion of their Fellowships.

    Requirements

    Essential skills and experience

    • A team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Good administration and organisational skills.
    • Interest in leadership development as an area of knowledge and skills development.
    • Awareness and interest in global affairs.
    • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
