To support the King Street Estates, Appraisals & Valuations team in the production of valuations and support the day to day running of the wider department.
The successful candidate should have a genuine interest in valuations and excellent attention to detail. Working on multiple projects at once and frequently delivering to tight deadlines, this role will require flexibility, strong time management skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Valuation production:
- Typing, correcting and proofing valuations in line with Christie’s cataloguing standards
- Using Excel to build preliminary valuation spreadsheets and importing data into the valuation system (CAMS)
- Carrying out cross-referencing tasks
- Liaising with Specialists across the company
- Printing and binding valuations
- Scanning valuations and other documents
- Supporting Valuation Coordinators and Account Managers whenever required
- Ensuring the correct procedures are being followed for the relevant valuation type
General support for the department
- Supporting the Private & Iconic Collections team whenever needed, particularly during sale setup
- Running errands, distributing valuations and documents internally, collecting and distributing post
- Handling valuation requests by email, post or telephone
- Taking full responsibility for stationary and binding equipment – ordering and maintaining stock levels and tidying these areas
- Ensuring that printers are kept in working order and that paper is replenished daily
- Being the primary liaison with IT and Facilities
- Coordinating departmental events
- Other ad-hoc administrative duties and projects, as assigned by the Business Coordinator
About you
- Knowledge or interest in the arts and the art market. More specifically, an interest in valuations and UK heritage & taxation would be advantageous
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with good writing skills, including excellent grammar (for proofing)
- Knowledge of at least one European language preferred
