BMI Beardwood Hospital in Blackburn is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Graduate Trainee to join their team of staff in the Administration department.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role is located at Beardwood Hospital, Blackburn. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. This position is for a fixed term period of 18 Months only.

Applicants should meet the following criteria

  • Educated to degree level in Business Management with honours or equivalent with a willingness to undertake a leadership and management qualification
  • Ability to interpret financial information
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication  skills
  • Displays passion, energy, perseverance, entrepreneurial spirit
  • Sound financial skills to be able to read and interpret financial data
  • Ability to describe trends and offer solutions on detailed financial and management information Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Duties of this role include

  • As part of the hospital senior management team, the Graduate Trainee is responsible for supporting the Executive Director and Senior Management Team on a number of business initiatives linked to the overall Lancashire Cluster Strategic Plan.
  • This includes ensuring that all customers receive the best possible customer experience during their non-clinical customer journey and ensuring operational processes are embedded to support the patient experience; participating in productive stakeholder relations with key service users and referrers such as Consultants, NHS commissioners, GP’s and allied professional referrers to support business growth and supporting the Senior Management Team members with time specific projects ranging from infrastructure refurbishment, CQC re-inspection preparation and other initiatives as required.
  • To undertake specific projects as directed by the Executive Director in a timely manner
  • To engage with key Consultants and work with Heads Of Department on their growth strategies
  • To support the Senior Management Team with patient pathway integration
  • To contribute to the improvement of CQC ratings across the hospitals
