Citi’s Corporate Banking teams service the needs of the world’s largest corporations, financial institutions and governments. Corporate bankers build close relationships with their clients in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex financial issues they face. As a result they can deliver a full array of tailored solutions, from capital markets, loans and derivatives to cash management, foreign exchange and trade finance. We solve clients’ domestic and cross-border needs using our global network to deliver solutions right down to local levels.

Success Profile

Corporate bankers routinely work with clients on confidential and complex financial matters. Therefore, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, problem solving skills, confidence, interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility from the outside are all crucial attributes. If you have a natural business curiosity, are proactive in completing your work and can communicate with confidence, you may have all the foundations for becoming an excellent corporate banker. Excel and PowerPoint familiarity are also highly desirable and will aid you in your role.

Here at Citi, we want to ensure you are given true insight to help you decide where you want to start your career. Our Spring Insight Program runs for 4 days and during this time you will learn more about the following business areas: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Markets and Securities Services, Capital Markets Origination, Private Bank, Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), Risk Management, and Technology. Following the programme, participants that have demonstrated the qualities we look for at Citi will be able to apply for a place at an assessment centre in the autumn to be considered for a place on one of our 2023 summer analyst programs. 

We want to hear from you if...

  • You are of black or black-mixed heritage and looking for your first exposure to the industry and the different business areas within it
  • You are in your first year of a three-year undergraduate course or second year of a four-year undergraduate in any discipline or Master’s course (graduating in 2024)
