    The Financial Analyst is responsible for the production and management of accounts work within the EU Financial Accounts department, including accounts preparation, Intercompany and inventory reconciliation. Contributing to the effectiveness of the financial accounting team through identification of areas for continuous improvement, providing input and information to achieve problem resolution.

    This role is perfect for someone who is part way through their professional study as study support is offered as part of the package. The role can be offered on a hybrid basis working 3 days a week from our European HQ in Erdington.

    Responsibilities include

    • Responsibility for intercompany processing and full end to end reconciliation and FX revaluations for all EU entities.
    • Responsibility for inventory / F&F reconciliations and support to the business.
    • Assist in the production of monthly accounts for a number of Companies within the business - US GAAP reporting.
    • The review of profit/loss and balance sheet account analysis on a monthly basis.
    • Assist in the production of quarterly and year end accounts, liaison with auditors thereon. Ensuring US reporting requirements met.
    • Aid where necessary in statutory accounts production.
    • Completion of certain taxation matters, corporate and VAT (including intrastat)
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts, to provide up to date information to the Board and senior management for strategic planning.
    • Production of monthly management information to aid management review and planning.
    • Responsibility for Fixed Assets for relevant Claire's entities
    • Ensure all SOX requirements through the business are complied with.
    • Involvement in developing and enhancing business control systems.
    • Liaise with US Group company.
    • Provide assistance to European Financial Accounting Manager and the Finance Team as required.
    • Assist in specific Project work.
    • Production of ad hoc information and analysis when required.

    What are we looking for

    To be considered for this role we are keen to speak to people with the following skills and experience:

    • Either Part Qualified Studying either AAT, CIMA or ACCA, Or Degree 2:1 or above (desirable if not part qualified). Qualified/Part Qualified by Experience also considered. Study support provided.
    • Some experience in preparation of month end accounts, for a multi-sited / departmental organisation
    • Experience of a retail environment (preferable)
    • Advanced excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
    • Experience of Oracle Financials (desirable)
    • Knowledge of US GAAP (desirable)
    • Attention to detail.
    • Problem solving and lateral thinking.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Able to work and deliver results under pressure.
