    The role

    In this role, you will be part of the C&MD team supporting Clifford Chance's International Arbitration group, reporting directly into the International Arbitration C&MD Lead.

    The International Arbitration group, part of the firm's Global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, sit in offices across all the major arbitration centres and throughout our global network – including the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas – and work together as one cross-border team

    The team regularly acts for clients in investment protection arbitration, joint venture and M&A disputes as well as commercial dispute arbitrations in the energy, construction, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, aerospace & defence, banking & finance, insurance & reinsurance, shipping & transport and telecommunications sectors.

    In addition, with oversight from the International Arbitration C&MD Lead, support both our Public International Law and International Trade lawyers, many of whom are part of our International Arbitration group.

    Who you will work with

    You will support the International Arbitration C&MD Lead in working with our International Arbitration group of approximately 30 Partners and 130 Lawyers.

    As part of the L&DR C&MD team, you will work with the Global and Regional L&DR C&MD leads, as well as other members of the L&DR C&MD team located across the globe.

    You will also interact with members of the wider Global C&MD team; the Brand, Communications and Marketing ("BC&M") team; the Knowledge & Thought Leadership ("KETL") team; and the Innovation & Best Delivery ("I&BD") team.

    What you will be responsible for

    In this role you will supporting the International Arbitration Lead in:

    • driving the group's client and market development strategy
    • coordinating business development and marketing initiatives and campaigns
    • researching and tracking opportunities across all L&DR product areas for the London market
    • compiling legal directories and award submissions, including preparing materials for the directory interviews, and liaising with researchers
    • compiling and maintaining significant international Arbitration matter-specific pitches and credential statements
    • contributing International Arbitration input to London-led and global panel pitches and, where required, supporting these pitches from kick-off through to client presentations
    • working with third party publications, conference producers, etc., on profile raising opportunities for individual lawyers across the global group
    • working with our Events team to deliver key client events and seminars
    • providing International Arbitration input into wider C&MD function projects, such as the implementation of a new pitching and matter capture platform

    What you will do

    This is an important role for the International Arbitration group as one of three key areas of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. It requires a motivated and organised individual to support the International Arbitration C&MD Lead in building and maintaining our credibility in this legal area, pursuing and winning new business opportunities and retaining and growing existing client relationships.

    Your career experience so far

    In order to perform this role successfully, the candidate will require:

    • Previous experience in professional services business development (preferably in a law firm)
    • A genuine interest in the legal sector, particularly Litigation & Dispute Resolution, and a willingness to learn more about it
    • Strong project management and analytical capabilities
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written (editing and proofing ability, and high levels of accuracy and attention to detail)
    • Ability to prioritise projects and respond quickly to requests which have a short turnaround time
    • Pitch experience
    • Track record of being pro-active and delivering high quality work
    • Generally, strong software skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Exceptional team player, highly motivated, self-starter, committed to high performance.
    • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
