Finance Graduate Programme

The role of our Finance function is to bring together all the financial activity across the group through exceptional analysis, insight and reporting. We play a key role in business strategy by focusing on achieving sustainable growth, developing commercial awareness and responding to the ever changing regulatory and economic environment. The department has approximately 150 employees and is an expanding and fast-paced team.

This programme is a three year placement involving three insightful one year rotations designed to build expertise across department in a range of specialisms. Rotations could include Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Tax, Regulatory Reporting, Accounts Payable, Operational Finance and Financial Reporting. You will attend various Finance committees to develop excellent relationship management skills, honed by exposure to multiple stakeholders in a range of business areas. As a graduate trainee, you will also be enrolled and supported in training towards an accounting qualification, such as ACCA or CIMA.

Locations: Central London or Wimbledon (occasional business travel in the UK required for most roles).

Salary and benefits: £31,500 in year one and will be reviewed and increased incrementally thereafter to align to our Finance Study Policy (taking account of performance and progression with regards to professional exams). Close Brothers have a competitive benefits package including eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, season ticket loan, a cycle to work scheme, pension and life assurance.

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and have the flexibility for occasional business travel in the UK where required.

About You

• You will have a degree (or will have completed your degree by September 2022)
• Be a good communicator with the ability to build strong and lasting working relationships
• You are comfortable navigating change and managing ambiguity
• You are a quick learner, inquisitive, solution focused with the tenacity to make things happen
• You have excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with high attention to detail
• You are confident to articulate well thought out opinions and views
• You’re able to work on your own initiative with well-developed organisation and time management skills
• Good knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
• An analytical and problem-solving approach.
