    Key responsibilities

    We are seeking to recruit a motivated and capable paralegal to work with the team. The role will consist of assisting with case preparation, legal research, document management, processing evidence, initial enquiries, completing funding forms, client and witness contact, attending court and conferences, financial and billing assistance, as well as general administration. There is the option for this position to count towards QWE (Qualifying Work Experience).

    Applicants should be aware that the team’s work frequently engages many highly sensitive and potentially distressing issues including death, violence and discrimination as well as working with highly vulnerable individuals.

    What you'll need

    Essential

    • High graduate/post-graduate qualifications
    • Able to work well within a team and be able to take responsibility and show initiative when working individually. You should also have good administrative and case management skills within an office environment

    Desirable

    The successful candidate should also have the following:

    • Excellent people skills
    • Good research and document analysis skills
    • Legal experience, particular in relation to police actions, human rights, judicial reviews, and public inquiries. This role would suit someone who has completed a law degree, is completing the GDL or thinking about doing the SQE on a part-time basis and/or has relevant prior experience working in the legal sector or connected NGOs and Charities. It may also suit someone with experience in a research position.
