We’re seeking enthusiastic placement students or recent graduates to join our Field Testing team at our Basildon head office and plant for a 12-month opportunity starting in July-August 2025.
This role offers a unique hands-on experience working within our European field test engineers team to assist with the testing and development of prototype tractor fleets.
As part of the role, you will
- Assist test engineers with routine engineering tests in the field using equipment like dynamometers, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
- Prepare prototype tractors and testing equipment for shipping to field sites
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on agricultural machinery
- Assemble and install updated parts on prototype vehicles
- Maintain vehicle databases, including records of hours, problems, and builds
- Report concerns found in the field and help facilitate problem resolution
- Liaise with design, test engineering groups, product management, after-sales teams, and CNH dealerships
- Operate agricultural vehicles and test equipment as needed
- Travel to customer farms, test sites, and dealership locations for testing purposes
Job requirements
- Strong practical knowledge of tractors and agricultural equipment
- Competent operator of agricultural machinery
- Experience with tractor electrical and electronic systems, including fault finding and setup
- Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Good oral and written communication skills
- High standard of computer literacy
- Full UK driving license and flexibility for travel and working hours
